MONITORING OF COMPRESSED AIR SYSTEMS
Without sufficient instrumentation on compressed air systems, it is impossible to determine whether or not they are operating efficiently.
Permanent metering of air flows around a large distribution network can be very costly.
An alternative to permanent metering is to fit some means of measuring air flow in all main lines.
This would mean fitting an insertion point for a turbine flow meter.
A single meter can then be attached to each measuring point, in turn, and initiatives taken to reduce air usage.
WHAT WILL AIRMECH IDENTIFY?
By installing a flow meter into your system when it’s LIVE, (This means no loss of production at any time) Airmech can establish the following:-
- Areas of financial savings.
- Support for capital expenditure proposals.
- Identify how compressors are coping with demand.
- Identify how efficient your compressors are. (i.e. electrical consumption over output)
- Identify if your compressors are running at peak efficiency. (NB servicing of a compressor does not ensure peak efficiency.)
- Identify the leakage rate of compressed air within your plant.
- Identify your compressed air usage at night, break times, lunch times, shift changes, Saturdays, etc.
- Identify your peak, average and minimum demands of your compressed air supply.
- Identify your demand patterns in different parts of your factory.
