Airmech is a compressed air services company based in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. Since 1980 we have serviced, repaired, installed and supplied compressors for UK businesses, from single-site workshops to national operations like DPD. We are authorised distributors for CompAir, Hydrovane, ABAC and Champion.
Three generations of the same family have run it. When you call, you get someone who knows your site.

Our story
From a phone under the stairs to national contracts
Roy Emmett started Airmech in 1980 with a phone, a notepad and the space under his stairs. His daughter Karen typed the quotes. Karen and Keith took over in 2006, and Charlotte Bedford runs it today as the third generation.

- 1980
Under the stairs
Roy Emmett started Airmech Pneumatic Supplies & Services from the space under his stairs, with a phone and a notepad. His daughter Karen typed the quotes in her lunch hour.
- 1982
The first unit
Airmech moved to a small unit on Newport Road in Coventry, with offices, a mezzanine for stock and its first eight employees.
- 1983
Karen joins full time
Karen joined in January 1983 and ran the office side of the business for decades.
- Late 1980s
A bigger site
Work for Dunlop, National Plastics and the Birmingham bakeries took Airmech to a larger unit with a workshop, separate stores and more than 20 staff.
- 2006
Second generation
Roy handed the running of the company to Karen and Keith. Keith moved the business to Nuneaton in 2007.
- 2013
Third generation
Charlotte Bedford joined straight from university. Her sister Georgina joined the office a year later.
- 2015
Charlotte becomes a director
Charlotte was appointed Director and brought in new systems and a focus on national, multi-site contracts.

Still the same family
Charlotte runs the business as Managing Director. Keith still works in the business, looking after projects.
